現年84歲傅達仁因罹患肺腺癌，僅剩2個月生命，被病魔折磨許久的他，19日寫信給總統蔡英文，盼能早日合法實施安樂死。如今，傅達仁獲得總統府回信，但仍舊是制式回覆，讓他不禁感嘆：「日子不多了！」
傅達仁一年多來，都在極力為安樂死合法化努力，今（27）日再度收到總統府來函表示：「牽涉：法侓、醫學、哲學、宗教、倫理道德、社會文化、層面，必須詳加研議。」此後傅達仁洋洋灑灑列出9點，聲明安樂死合法化的重要。
傅達仁文中僅期盼：「有一天老了、絕症了，因國家有安樂死法，可申請獲准後吃一包藥或一塊糖，3分鐘左右，不痛睡著而亡。」更表示安寧治療與安樂死並不互相衝突，希望每個人都能有尊嚴地選擇自己該如何死去。
